YOU are what you are searching for.
This Cazimi invites you to stop seeking and start reflecting.
There is a beautiful quote that I adore from the mystic and philosopher St. Francis of Assisi. It not only sums up this weekend’s Cazimi energy but also the essence of astrology. He said:
‘What we are looking for is what is looking’.
It suggests that searching for meaning, truth, or understanding is ultimately a search for our true nature.
✨ The essence of what we are searching for already resides within us.
✨ So often we are seeking that which is outside us, when actually what we truly need to do is go within.
When I first encountered this quote, I had to sit with it for a while, allowing it to percolate in my mind like coffee brewing into something robust, complex, and delicious.
The thing we are seeking so desperately for - that sense of purpose, that spark or proof that there is something more in the world - a soul, spirit, God, magic -
This is the thing that is doing the looking.
In astrology, a Cazimi occurs when a planet is in such close conjunction with the Sun that it is considered to be ‘in the heart of the Sun’.
Since the Sun represents our core self, identity and consciousness, then the planet experiencing this cosmic connection is illuminated and empowered by the Sun's energy. This weekend, we have a Mercury Cazimi in the sign of Gemini.
Mercury is the planet related to how we process information; it is our understanding of knowledge and our communication style.
It also displays the way we analyse, observe and assess the world, and therefore the reality we create for ourselves. After all, as Anaïs Nin perfectly summarised it — 'We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are'
The role of Mercury in the zodiac gives us clues as to how we can focus our attention in order to receive a reflected version that serves our greater purpose.
Therefore, this Mercury Cazimi amplifies our ability to understand ourselves on a deep, intrinsic level.
What we are searching for (represented by Mercury) is being fully empowered and realised in our core self (the Sun). Clarity can be found within - the answers we seek externally are often reflections of our inner self.
Over this Cazimi:
📍 Take time to have meaningful conversations or write in your journal. Pay attention to how you express yourself & the insights that arise. This can reveal deeper truths about your thoughts, feelings & desires.
📍 Engage in a short meditation session to focus your thoughts. Observe mental patterns without judgment. This can help you gain clarity on your true beliefs & values.
📍 Notice where you are intuitively pulled to make a change or take action. Where have you been searching for confirmations or answers outside of yourself, when actually your inner voice has been clamouring for attention?
This is the inner wisdom you seek.
It made me reflect on the concept of accumulating wisdom, and how we work so hard to increase our knowledge base. Whilst I am all for learning new skills, gaining extra qualifications and forever broadening our horizons, it is also so essential to balance this with regular moments of self-reflection and stillness.

I spent a lot of time in and out of hospital when I was growing up because of kidney failure, and my dad (aka Owly, as we call him) was a constant companion and source of wisdom. You see, he’s a meditation/yoga/shiatsu/tai chi/qi gong teacher, qualified hypnotherapist, NLP & EFT practitioner, life coach… the list goes on… and before he met my mum, he was going to become a monk. 🤣 Essentially, from the moment I was born I had my own personal guru.
